REMINDER! The deadline for 10th-12th graders to turn in applications for the National Social Studies Honor Society (Rho Kappa), is February 1st. Please email Mrs. Holden at for a list of requirements and an application.

SPHS now has an American Sign Language (ASL) Club! This club offers students an opportunity to learn American Sign Language and to communicate using ASL. Students will also get a chance to learn deaf culture and give back to the community. All students are welcome to join and to attend the first meeting on January 27th. The SPHS Varsity and JV Boys Bowling Teams won first place in their respective divisions of the VHHS Rebel Roll Tournament yesterday. Both teams competed against some of the best in the area and defeated area rival, VHHS, in the finals.
Senior Michael Ogletree, led the varsity team and made the Varsity All-Tournament team with the team high score of 201. Cole Henson, Liam Hilson, Luke Belmont, and Russel Partin all made the JV All-Tournament team.

Applications for the National Social Studies Honor Society (Rho Kappa) are now being accepted. Please email Mrs. Holden at for a list of requirements and an application. Applications are open to 10th-12th graders and will be available until February 1st.

It's time for Xanadu! Spain Park Theatre's spring musical is coming soon, and now is your chance to be a part of it! Auditions will be January 26th-28th and ALL are welcome to try out. You do not have to be in the theatre program to participate. For more information, join the Google classroom with code 53folku.

We want YOUR photos for the yearbook! In an effort to record student life at SPHS, on campus and off, an app has been made available for students to submit their own photos for the yearbook. Download the ImageShare App from your phone's marketplace, and easily upload your photos.

Did you miss out? There were several yearbook photo opportunities so far this year. If you haven't had your school photo taken, there will be one more on-campus opportunity in January. However, students who haven't been photographed yet, are encouraged to schedule a yearbook sitting with Iron City Studios as soon as possible. Visit, to schedule your sitting.

Seniors, don't forget that the deadline for having senior portraits taken is February 28th. Only photos taken by Iron City Studios will be printed, so please make sure you schedule your portrait with them as soon as possible, if you haven't done so already.
