Simmons 7th Grade Football Team Wins Metro

The Simmons Bucs 7th Grade Football team won the 2018 Metro Championship by defeating Hewitt Trussville by a score of 35-24. This is an amazing accomplishment because the 7th grade football team hasn't had an undefeated season at Simmons since 2005. This team set several Simmons 7th Grade football records: points scored (287) and points allowed (62). We beat both of our rival schools this year as well.

Coach Keyon Williams says, "This was a special group to coach, not only are they great athletes they're even better young men. Our players represented Simmons well on the field as well as in the classroom. 30 of the 44 players on our team were on A honor roll or A/B honor roll. I'm proud of our guys and I was blessed to coach such a special group of young men." Coach Williams was also nominated as the 2018 7th Grade Football Metro Coach of the Year. This is a huge honor because it's voted on by the coaches in the league. We could not be prouder of our 7th grade bucs!
