From Principal Dr. Alice Turney

I cannot believe we are almost at the midway point of the school year. It has been a busy one with bunny adoption, mural painting, community events, parent conferences, can food drive, field trips, camp, and a host of other activities. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. We have lots planned for December such as the SPHS Holiday Show, Holiday Shop, Toy Drive and Choir Program to name a few. Regular and on time attendance is important so your child does not miss out on these events.

I am beyond excited to share we are moving forward with STEM certification. Our visit begins on December 10th. This has required many hours of extra work on the part of our amazing staff. We are going to have the amazing opportunity to showcase our students talents, skills, and learning. We will know on December 11th if our school has met the standards for this certification which looks for qualities and components in schools that create and sustain superior, student-centered STEM teaching and learning programs, as well as clear expectations for student outcomes and mastery of 21stcentury skills. You can find out more about this credentialing process at

As always thank you for sharing your child with us,

Dr. Alice Turney
