From Principal Dr. Alice Turney

Dear Families,

Below is some important end of the year information.

1. WITHDRAWING: If you will not be returning the RES next year because you are moving, please contact Pam Harris at to complete the withdrawal process. You will need the paperwork to assist you in enrolling at the new school. We wish you the best of luck and will miss you.

2. REPORT CARDS: Report cards will be mailed to your home address. This 9 weeks and final average is graded on a pass/fail system. You will find an P for pass and an F for fail. Parents of children in lower grades will need to pay close attention to this as in other 9 weeks it has referred to progressing but it is a change for this 9 weeks and final average.  Pass/fail does not directly correlate with passing or failing the grade level.

3. PARADE: We hope that you will be able to join us on May 22 for the end of the year parade. You will follow the afternoon carpool route (single not double lined) for the parade. Check out this flyer for more details.

4. NEW STUDENTS: Do you know a new family moving to the Riverchase area? If so, please share this information with them.

5. STUDENT WORK: Please make sure that your child has turned in their work to their teacher. Please know that not turning in their work could result in a failing grade. We want to support your child in making a passing grade. If you need assistance, please contact your child's teacher.

6. SCHOOL SUPPLY PACKS: If you are interested you can find more information on this flyer

7. LIBRARY BOOKS AND OTHER SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Do you have library books or other materials that belong to the teacher at home? No worries, you have a few options for return. You can bring it during the parade and hand it to Dr. Turney (she will be near the exit), you can drop it off in the return work tub at the front door of the school (make sure you denote which teacher it belongs to), or bring it T-TH from 8am to 11am.

Lastly, but by far not least, THANK YOU! There are no words to describe what type of school year this has been on so many levels. I am thankful to be part of the Riverchase community and work alongside you and your family. We are so blessed to have amazing teachers/staff who strive for excellence daily. Even though we did not even have a full school year together, we were able to have Talent Show, Field Day, Movie Night, Innovation Night, BookFair, Color Run, author visit from Dan Gutman, adopt Snowball, make great memories, and even obtain international credentials with Cognia STEM Certification with a Snow Ball to celebrate.

I hope you have a wonderful summer! I look forward to seeing you in the fall.
