Hoover City Schools and Gwin Elementary School are turning PINK!
February 25th through March 1st the Hoover City Schools celebrates Be Kind Week in order to stand up against bullying.
All Hoover City Schools and departments will have site-specific activities designed to cultivate a culture of caring and kindness - which research teaches us is an extremely effective approach to stop bullying.
Wednesday, February 27, 2019 is Pink Shirt Day. Students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt on this date to show their support for “bully-free” schools!
We truly hope this will eventually become a community-led effort that will be in place for years to come. For this effort to be a success and accomplish its goal of eradicating bullying - we need YOU!
We look forward to using PINK to stand up against bullying, so that everyone knows in Hoover City Schools, WE choose to BE KIND!
Be Kind shirts are available for purchase. If you are interested in buying a pink shirt for your child, look for more information about how to buy a shirt soon on MySchoolFees.com or you are welcome to wear any pink shirt you have!
