Business and Entrepreneurship Academy Takes Care of Business at Statewide Competition

23 April 2021

Earlier this week, students from the Hoover Business and Entrepreneurship Academy competed in the Junior Achievement of Alabama Business Plan Challenge Finals.

The challenge allows students to demonstrate their understanding of business fundamentals, the importance of creatively marketing to a target audience, and the power of persuading potential investors during a live pitch.

It is open to high school students involved in JA Be Entrepreneurial Program. During the JA in-class program, students participate in mini-workshops, led by mentors from the business community, and work to develop solutions/businesses to pitch to a panel of local entrepreneurs.

Hoover High School took up a third of the spots in the finals.

Final results:

Augusta Jones (Tête Beauty) came in 1st place.

Faith Stoudemire (All in One Therapy) came in 3rd.

Blake White (Time Saver) was named the People’s Choice Winner.

Grant Tincher/Lauren Wallace (Trackway) Blake White all took home honorable mentions.

Not only did these future entrepreneurs earn scholarship money from the competition, they learned so much about honing their business plans and pitches.
