REMINDERS

WINTER CREDIT RECOVERY - begins January 22nd and meets after school from 3:40 - 5:40, Monday through Thursday. Credit Recovery forms are available in the counselor's suite. Students can begin register now. The cost is $200 per semester course. There will be a $25 late fee for students who pay after January 17th.

SCHOOL INFORMATION

NO DELIVERIES - Please make sure your student has all items needed for the school day and any after-school activities before leaving home.  The Front Desk cannot accept deliveries for students.


ATTENDANCE REMINDERS -

Check In/Out Policy: Students must be checked in/out at the main campus, not at Hoover Hall.

There are two ways to check out a student:

  1. Arrange the check out ahead of time. (This can be done earlier, the same day or   weeks/months in advance and MUST be done in at the school by a person on their contact list .)
  2. Walk up to check out at the bell change. (Students may meet you at the check-out desk, but cannot wait for you if you are not physically in the lobby.)

*Students MAY NOT be checked out with a note, email, fax or phone call.

Students MAY check themselves IN with a parent note or a doctor note. Otherwise, they have to have a parent’s signature. Any check in without a note or parent signature is automatically unexcused.

Additional notes for Check-ins and Checkouts for Hoover Hall:  Parents, please be aware that no check-ins or checkouts are completed at Hoover Hall.  If you bring your student to school during their class block at Hoover Hall, please come by the main campus to pick up a check-in slip.  If your student has a doctor's note, they may come in while you wait out front to get their slip, and then you can drop them off in front of the Hoover Hall annex. Parents are responsible for dropping their students off at Hoover Hall if they arrive during this time.   If you need to check your student out while they are in their Hoover Hall class block, please come by the main campus to sign them out and receive a checkout slip, which you can take to the annex and pick them up. If your student drives, please discuss this procedure with them.  They need to have a check-in slip if they arrive during class time at Hoover Hall. Thanks for your cooperation, and please contact the Attendance Desk if you have questions.

CHECK OUT REMINDERS

As a friendly reminder, the Hoover High check out procedure states student check outs should be in between classes.  This keeps the interruption to classroom instruction to a minimum. Should you need to check out your student during class, please arrange the check out ahead of time. This can be done the same day or weeks/months in advance and must be done at the school by a person on their contact list.  The student will receive the checkout slip prior to class. They will show the teacher the slip and will be dismissed at the time designated on the slip.    


STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP - Student Drop Off and Pick Up is located in the front of the school.  No other locations are allowed on campus or in nearby neighborhoods. Students being dropped off/picked up in locations that are not permissible will be assigned discipline.

Please remember to access the carpool drop off and pick up in front of the school using Learning Lane off of Stadium Trace Parkway.  Do not use the new access road. The new access road is for student drivers that park in C & D lots.


NOW HIRING IN HOOVER AREA -- Current part-time job information is available at  bit.ly/hiringHoover  The businesses are either Hoover Cooperative Education/Work-based Learning business partners or have requested to be included in our list for current Hoover High School students.   Students are encouraged to make in-person, direct contact with the business in order to apply for open jobs.
