Hello and welcome to Trace Crossings Elementary School! I am Mr. Quincy Collins, and I am entering my 7th year as principal of TCES. Here at TCES we recognize the importance of working together as a team with teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of every student. I have worked in the education field for 14 years. I began my career teaching middle school language arts to 7th and 8th grade students. I continued my career as a high school language arts teacher and worked with students in 9th through 12th grades. During the early phase of my career, I had the pleasure of coaching high school girls basketball before making the transition into school administration. Teaching and coaching have both been instrumental in my development as a school leader and school principal. 

I am a native of Uniontown, Alabama and received my early education from the Perry County School system. After graduating from R.C. Hatch High School, I attended Alabama A&M University where I earned a B.S. in Secondary Education with a concentration in English/language arts. I later earned my Master of Education degree from the University of Montevallo in Instructional Leadership. Soon after completing graduate school, I joined Hoover City Schools in 2013 as the assistant principal at R.F. Bumpus Middle School.

Our mission at TCES is to encourage creative and critical thinking in a safe and collaborative environment. Together we want all TCES students to be equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century. In order to accomplish these goals we commit to Teach with an emphasis on literacy through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics, Reach beyond the schoolhouse doors to provide global learning opportunities for teachers and all students And Connect academic content with real-world experiences Every day. 

My wife and I have four wonderful children. We enjoy traveling and spending time together as a family.

I am happy to serve our students and our school community. I look forward to furthering the efforts of our school as we work together to support our students, families, faculty, and staff.
