ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC DISTINCTION
In its 15-year history, Spain Park High School has won 16 state athletic championships; including the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 Boys’ Golf State Championship, 2012 Boys’ Indoor Track State Championship, 2004, 2009 and 2010 Girls’ Soccer State Championship, 2015 Boys’ Baseball State Championship, and the 2018 Girls' Basketball State Championship. Football and Girls Softball both finished as State Runner-ups in the 2015/2016 season. Spain Park High School also holds the distinction of having the first ever Alabama State Boys Bowling Champions in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Spain Park High School is the 2008-2009 recipient of The Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (U.S. Department of Education Secondary Schools Recognition Program) and the 2008-2009 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse Award Winner. In 2007, Spain Park High School was awarded the State of Alabama Attorney General’s Safe Schools Initiative Award. In 2007, 2008, 2009 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 Spain Park High School was recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one of the “Top High Schools in the United States” In 2014 Spain Park High School was recognized by ACT for College and Career Readiness and ranked in the top 5 nationally. In 2018 Niche recognized Hoover City Schools as the 5th Safest School District in the United States.

Spain Park High School is pleased to offer selective academies with dynamic courses of study designed to help students hone their skills in particular fields of study.
