NEW POLICY REGARDING ABSENCE EXCUSES
Please submit absence excuses (whether parent or doctor) electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org beginning Monday, October 12, 2020. Parent notes MUST include a parent/legal guardian signature. We cannot accept an email with no handwritten signature. In addition, notes should include the student’s full name, teacher name, dates of absence, and reason for the absence within 3 days of the student’s return to school. You may take a picture of a handwritten excuse, and email it to this address. Thank you for your cooperation in this attempt to keep us healthy!
Further, if your student is going to be absent for a reason other than those listed as approved by the Hoover City Schools Code of Conduct (example-family trip), you may request that the days missed be coded as excused by submitting an Anticipated Absence form at least three (3) days in advance of the absence. This form can be used for full day or partial day absences. The Anticipated Absence form can be found here.
Please note that email@example.com is used ONLY for notes regarding absences and NOT changes of transportation. All changes of transportation notes MUST be sent, in writing, to your child’s classroom teacher or by calling Gwin Elementary directly.
