11-09-2015 (HCS) - Leaders of Hoover City Schools are moving into the next phase of a re-zoning plan. The leaders are taking what they learned at a series of community meetings to formulate a plan.

Superintendent Dr. Kathy Murphy told us she's learned parents are very passionate about where their children attend school. She stressed there is no option other than to re-zone the district. She is planning to put the plan before the board early next year.

"The timing is very tight. It's very ambitious. But, it is very desirable on our part. We are certainly more interested in getting this right than hitting some arbitrarily set timeline," said Dr. Murphy.

Dr. Murphy hope to have the new re-zoning plan in place for the 2016-2017 school year.
