Law Academy Team Takes Select Top Honors at Nationals back button

15-May-14 (SPHS) – Spain Park High School’s National Mock Trial team returned from the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Wisconsin with a big win.  Team member Christina McLaughlin was honored as the national’s competition’s “Most Outstanding Witness.”  This prestigious competition features top-notch mock trial teams from across the United States.

“The entire team represented both our school and our state well,” Law Academy co-director Mrs. Libby Day said.

Day, who coordinates the Law Academy and mock trial activities with colleague Mr. Craig Thompson, said this year’s showing is the third time in four years that Spain Park High School’s National Mock Trial Team has been selected for the honor of participating in the national competition. 

The team consists of students Noah Crawford, Jacob Kimes, Tommy Kulkis, Ellie Lapinski, Christina McLaughlin, Matt Schoeneman, Bailey Whetter and Taylor Wood.
