05-31-2013 (HCS) - The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has released the names of Alabama public high school seniors who are recipients of the prestigious scholarship awards.  Several are students/graduates of Hoover High School and Spain Park High School.

Congratulations to our HCS and state winners, as listed on this Alabama State Department of Education news release.

The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.5 million entrants each year–and by meeting published program entry/participation requirements.  See more on the program here.
