SPECIAL NOTES:  Multiple credits maybe attempted, but registration and payment will only be accepted for one credit at a time.  Tuition and application are due at the time of registration.  Once a student completes the requirements of the course, they are released from summer school.  If needed and space is available, students may register and pay to recover an additional credit.

Credit Recovery is only an option for students who have attempted and failed a course with a final earned grade between 40% - 59%.  The highest grade possible under credit recovery is 70% (C).  There is not a distinction between semester parts of full-year courses. It will not matter if a student failed 1st, 2nd, or both semesters.  They will experience credit recovery for all assigned curriculum standards.   No assigned content can be skipped; students must pass each lesson at 70%. The final grade for any student who completes all assignments will be 70% (C).

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:  Only high school students zoned for either Hoover High or Spain Park High are eligible to take credit recovery courses.

Students must complete credit recovery within 20 days  of starting the course.( This equates to over 96  hours of seat time. )  ALL courses must be completed by July 26, 2013 @ 1:00 p.m.

v  Using written notes or reference materials during computer assessments which are not specifically authorized by the supervising teacher

v  Accessing the internet, using a cell phone, or opening electronic documents with notes or reference materials during computer assessments without specific authorization by a supervising teacher

Credit Enhancement Update
Driver’s Education, Summer 2013

Students who are enrolled in Driver’s Education for the summer of 2013 are required to attend the first five days of the term. Students who are not present on the first day of the term will be automatically dropped from the class. (Tuition will not be refunded.) As the first five days are valuable instructional time, attendance is non-negotiable. Upon successful completion of the classroom instruction, students will only return to campus for their driving hours. Instructors will schedule this time with the students. Due to the number of students that must be scheduled, instructors are unable to fulfill special requests.

All Drivers’ education classes are filled for the summer. However, we are wait-listing students. If you would like to place your student on the waiting list, complete the on-line registration form and email it to summerschool@hoover.k12.al.us. You will be notified if a space becomes available in either term.

Health Class, Summer 2013

Students who are enrolled in health for the summer are required to attend the first day of the term for which they are enrolled. If the student does not attend the first day of the term, they will be dropped from the class and tuition will not be refunded. Students will be offered three dates in which they must return to campus for a seminar. The balance of the course will be completed on-line. Completion of the course must fall within the dates of the term the student is enrolled. Limited seats are still available. Registration instructions can be found on the web-site.
