Riverchase Property Community Meetings

3-October-2017 (HCS) - Superintendent Dr. Kathy Murphy and district leaders received feedback once again this week at the second of two community meetings regarding the future planned use of the Riverchase Middle School property. Hoover City Schools has conceptual plans to use the facility as a career center beginning with the 2018-2019 school year.

Several parents, business leaders, and HCS employees were present at the October 3rd meeting - held at Spain Park HS.  The meeting follows the September 26th meeting held at Hoover HS.  At both meetings, Dr. Murphy and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Ron Dodson presented on the possibilities for the campus, tentatively named the Riverchase Center for Career Innovation.

Among the possible offerings at the Riverchase campus for upcoming school years: building construction, carpentry, electrical work, heating and air conditioning, welding, computer science, cosmetology, culinary arts, hospitality, emergency medical and fire services, industrial automotive systems, landscape management and junior ROTC.
