2-14-13 (HHS) - Hoover High School applauds teacher Gerri Kimble’s recognition as the Alabama Business Education Association (ABEA) Secondary Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Kimble was presented her award at the annual ABEA Conference last week in Auburn.

Mrs. Kimble is an alumna of Talladega High School and Alabama State University, where she completed her undergraduate degree.  She went on to Auburn University where she earned a Master's degree.

ABEA is a professional association for business and marketing educators at the secondary and post-secondary levels. The purpose of ABEA is to promote quality education in all phases of the business as well as encourage professional growth and cooperative interaction among all individuals involved in the field.

Kimble keeps a full schedule at Hoover High School, teaching Business Technology Applications and Management Principles.  Even so, she has agreed to serve another term as Secretary of ABEA.  At its most recent conference, Hoover High School teacher Judy Kehr was nominated president-elect of ABEA.

Congratulations Gerri!
