5-22-2012 (TCES) – Twenty years ago, the Hoover school system opened its first new school independent of Jefferson County: Trace Crossings Elementary School. That was in 1992. Now, in 2012, those two decades of successful service to students is being celebrated.

For the TCES family, the month of May was a time to reflect on those twenty years of success. It all culminated Friday, May 18, with the school’s 2012 Birthday Open House. Scores attended the after-school event hosted by the school’s PTO and principal Robin Litaker, including three of the school’s former principals: Dr. Dale Truding; Dr. Gloria Solomon; and Dr. Dot Riley.

State Representative Mr. Paul DeMarco was on hand for the event as well. He presented a proclamation from the State House of Representatives congratulating Trace Crossings Elementary on its many successes. The PTO also formally thanked Rep. DeMarco for his securing of a grant – which will go toward a new playground for the school. See more photos from the event here.
