Superintendent Dr. Kathy Murphy The core mission of all Hoover personnel is to provide an exemplary education to each child enrolled in a Hoover school. To accomplish this goal, Hoover schools employ outstanding educators, provide students with a rich array of course offerings and opportunities, and utilize instructional methodologies that reflect cutting edge practice in educational research.
Parental involvement and community support is a core ingredient to the success of Hoover City Schools. Examples of parent support includes volunteers in each school, active parent organizations at each school and for athletics and fine arts, and a district parent advisory group made up of representatives from individual school parent organizations. City and school officials cooperate on numerous projects such as the School Resource Office Program and cooperative use of athletic fields and facilities. Community support is observed at so many levels.
Academically, Hoover students continue to surpass state and national averages on all assessments. Other areas of academic pride are evidenced when examining graduation rates, college placements, state science and writing assessments, and National Merit Scholars winners.
Enrollment in our schools increases annually, reinforcing the well-known fact that teacher quality and course offerings in Hoover are second to none. The five-member Hoover Board of Education is committed to quality teaching and learning and remains eager to maintain the high academic standards for which we have become renowned.
From academics to arts to athletics, the future remains strong for Hoover City Schools.
